The Canon EOS 200D Mark II is a versatile DSLR with an excellent balance of stills and video capabilities, distinguished by its noticeably streamlined physical factor. High-resolution still photos and UHD 4K video recording are both feasible with this camera's 24.1MP APS-C-format CMOS sensor and DIGIC 8 image processor. It also has a broad ISO 100–25600 sensitivity range to accommodate working in a variety of lighting circumstances. For artistically illustrating things over time, it is also feasible to create in-camera 4K time-lapse movies.

The sensor's design supports Dual Pixel CMOS AF, which employs phase-detection autofocus for rapid, precise, and smooth focusing performance whether recording movies or taking still photos in live view, in addition to benefiting the imaging qualities. A 9-point phase-detection system is employed for rapid and precise focusing in a range of shooting situations while taking still pictures with the optical viewfinder.

The small body design houses a sizable 3.0 "A 1.04m-dot touchscreen LCD with a vari-angle design is included for simple settings management and live view monitoring. This allows for easy reading from both high and low working angles. Furthermore, built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are provided for wireless image sharing with smartphones, tablets, and other mobile devices, respectively. Built-in Wi-Fi also enables quick and simple pairing with a mobile device for remote camera operation.

DIGIC 8 Image Processor and 24.1MP APS-C CMOS Sensor

To offer excellent sensitivity and quick camera performance for both stills and video applications, a 24.1MP APS-C CMOS sensor and DIGIC 8 image processor are both utilised. The native ISO range of 100 to 25600 is adaptable for working in a variety of lighting situations, and the processing tools reduce noise for pronounced clarity. The CPU also permits continuous filming at a rate of up to 5 frames per second, UHD 4K video recording, and a 4K time-lapse movie mode.

UHD 4K Video Capture

The SL3 can capture still images, UHD 4K24p video, Full HD, and HD video in addition to still images. Dual Pixel CMOS AF and Movie Servo AF focusing capabilities, as well as the LCD monitor's touchscreen interface for simple control, are advantageous for video recording. Additionally, Movie Digital IS reduces the impression of camera wobble along five axes for more fluid video, aiding in the stabilisation of recordings. For even more control over your recorded sound, the body design includes a connection for an additional microphone.

A specific Time-Lapse Movie mode that makes advantage of the video capabilities may also be utilised to imaginatively show subjects over a longer period of time. For between 2 and 3600 consecutive frames, interval options between 1 second and 60 minutes are available. For continuous playback, each individual frames may then be automatically assembled into a 4K or Full HD video clip.

Dual Pixel CMOS AF with 9-Point Phase-Detection AF

A 9-point phase-detection autofocus system is advantageous for stills photography with the optical viewfinder because it offers rapid and precise focusing in challenging lighting settings. In order to increase accuracy and speed, the centre point is also a cross-type.

Design of the Body and Wireless Connectivity

• Large 3.0 "A 1.04m-dot touchscreen LCD offers a simple way to choose menu options, manage focus points, and examine images. Additionally, this screen has a variable-angle design that makes working from high and low angles more convenient.
• An optical pentamirror viewfinder provides a simple method for shooting at eye level.
• Easy wireless sharing of photographs and videos to a connected mobile device is made possible by the built-in Wi-Fi.
With the use of Bluetooth, a smartphone or tablet may be connected for instant image sharing and remote control functions.
• When using the viewfinder, the included LP-E17 rechargeable lithium-ion battery offers about 1630 shots per charge, or 350 photos per charge when using live view.
Lens, EF-S 18-55mm f/4-5.6 IS

The EF-S 18-55mm f/4-5.6 IS STM lens, which has a 28.8-88mm equivalent focal length range and can capture viewpoints from wide-angle to portrait-length, is included with the camera body. Its design incorporates an STM focusing mechanism that offers control that is smooth and accurate as well as nearly quiet focusing capabilities. In order to operate in low light and with higher zoom magnifications, the Optical Image Stabilizer technology also aids in reducing the appearance of camera shake by up to four shutter speed increments.
