20.3MP Digital Live MOS Sensor with AR Coating and Venus Engine
The GH5 II boasts an advanced Venus Engine Imaging Processor and a 20.3MP Digital Live MOS sensor with a newly created AR Coating. These updates provide a 25% increase in dynamic range, reduce ghosting and flare in backlit scenes, and enhance colour gradation and reproduction. Sharpness is maximised and brightly illuminated scenes are faithfully reconstructed using multipixel Luminance Generation technology. It allows for shooting at sensitivity levels up to ISO 25600 and provides excellent three-dimensional colour control and precise noise reduction techniques. Additionally, it allows for AF-S or manual focus modes at speeds of up to 12 frames per second.
4K Video Recording
The GH5 II offers exceptional video quality for professional videography and has unlimited video recording capacity in a variety of settings. It has the ability to simultaneously output 4:2:2 10-bit over HDMI while recording in 4K 60p 4:2:0 10-bit DCI and UHD formats. For high-quality output for use with external monitors and recorders, the camera has an HDMI port. For highly detailed images free of compression artefacts, the camera also provides high bit rate recording.
Multiple picture styles offer two different Cinelike gamma presets in the Photo Style for more experienced users. These settings enable the reproduction of warm skin tones or delicate variations in light and shadow without the need for colour grading on V-Log footage. Dynamic range is prioritised in the Cinelike D2 setting, whereas contrast is prioritised in Cinelike V2. All of these modes, along with L. Monochrome S and L. Classic Neo, are capable of anamorphic video recording.
The GH5 II is made to be an expandable system, and it has a variety of add-ons that can help enhance video recording abilities. Examples of this include an optional XLR Microphone Adapter, which connects to a hot shoe and offers XLR inputs and physical controls. Improved tracking performance recognises moving subjects' faces and eyes as well as the human body quickly against a background of moving objects. 6K and 4K PHOTO
6K PHOTO offers 18MP stills at a 30 fps shooting rate, and 4K PHOTO offers 8MP stills at 30 or 60 fps for situations where a very quick frame rate is required to capture the best moment. The pre-burst mode records pictures one second before and one second after pressing the shutter button, giving you up to 60 frames to choose from. Both photo modes have an unlimited recording time.
