The ultra-compact Zhiyun-Tech SMOOTH-X Smartphone Gimbal (White) is made even more so by its folding construction. While it is a true pocket-size gimbal, it can also be telescopically extended, in which case it serves as a gimbal plus selfie stick, enabling you to take 2-axis stabilised videos and photographs from additional angles, including group shots.

The telescopic bar expands by about 10", making the SMOOTH-total X's expanded length to around 20". The gimbal accommodates phones up to 3.5" via an adjustable attachment, and it allows you to position your phone horizontally or vertically for conventional as well as portrait photographs. When the telescopic bar is retracted, the gimbal measures around 10" from end to end. Once your phone is connected, you may quickly change the orientation by pressing a button. A built-in battery offers an average runtime of 4 hours and, in some apps, even up to 5.5 hours when in standby.

A companion iOS/Android app for this user-friendly gimbal greatly increases your capabilities. The programme allows you to track a topic automatically once you have it in the frame and offers slow motion, time-lapse, panorama, and other artistic options. Additionally, it provides simple editing options for the videos you've recorded. Trimming shots, adding music, subtitles, and other features are all easily doable.

The SMOOTH-X contains physical joysticks and other controls that communicate directly with your phone in addition to the app's control features. Additionally, this logical gimbal offers clever gesture control. With this function, you can wave at the camera or make the "V" sign to capture a picture or begin recording a video. The gimbal's bottom features a 1/4"-20 mounting thread for attaching an optional micro tripod for use as a stand or extension, and a USB cable for charging the gimbal's battery is also provided.
