This Samyang 12mm f/2.0 AF Compact Ultra Wide-Angle Lens is intended for APS-C format Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras and offers an 18mm focal length perspective, which is equivalent to 35mm full-frame format. It combines a wide-angle perspective with a fast maximum aperture. The lens's design includes two extra-low dispersion elements, one aspherical element, and one hybrid-aspherical element to help reduce aberrations and distortions for improved sharpness and clarity. All lens elements have also been coated with Ultra Multi-Coating to lessen lens flare and ghosting for improved contrast and colour fidelity. The bright f/2.0 maximum aperture excels in challenging lighting situations and provides more flexibility in determining the depth of field and where to place the focus. For the best focus control, the lens barrel includes a focus hold button and a custom function switch in addition to the Linear STM autofocus motor.
