The Tamron SP 35mm f/1.8 Di VC USD Lens for Nikon F updates a traditional wide-angle prime lens with a sophisticated optical design and VC image stabilisation for improved image quality. One Low Dispersion element, one eXtra Low Dispersion element, two aspherical elements, and eBAND and BBAR coatings work to reduce flare and ghosting for improved contrast and colour fidelity. These elements work together to control a variety of aberrations and distortions for even illumination, sharpness, and reduced colour fringing.

This 35mm f/1.8 lens's ring-type USD motor, which offers quick, quiet autofocus performance with full-time manual focus capabilities, complements its imaging capabilities. A minimum focusing distance of 7.9" and a maximum magnification of 1:2.5 are achieved with the help of an inner focusing design and the Floating System. The lens's construction is also noteworthy for having several water-resistant seals and a fluorine-coated front element to prevent fingerprints, smudging, and water.

A wide-angle prime, this 35mm lens is designed for FX format Nikon F mount DSLRs, and is also compatible with DX models where it will provide a 52.5mm equivalent focal length.
