DESCRIPTION

The Canon RF 85mm f/1.2 L USM is a beloved short-telephoto lens that combines a bright maximum aperture with a prized focal length. It is distinguished by its sophisticated optical construction, which creates images that are properly corrected. Working with shallow depth of field and selective focus techniques is made easier by the fast f/1.2 design, which also performs well in challenging lighting conditions. The Blue Spectrum Refractive Optics element, a specially created element that helps to almost completely eliminate chromatic aberrations and colour fringing for notable clarity and colour accuracy, is incorporated into the optical layout. To further control various aberrations and distortion for excellent sharpness and resolution, an ultra-low dispersion element and one aspherical element are also included. Additionally, each element has an Air Sphere Coating to reduce flare and ghosting when working in bright, backlit environments for high contrast and colour fidelity.

An effective ring-type Ultrasonic Motor, which provides quick, nearly silent autofocus and full-time manual focus override, completes the imaging capabilities. For simple exposure setting control from the lens itself, a special Control Ring is also incorporated into the lens design.
