Ready When You Are, with Accessories
The RS 3 gimbal stabilizer, which weighs only 2.8 lb and has a payload capacity of up to 6.6 lb, is part of the DJI RS 3 Combo. It has been redesigned to be even lighter and more svelte than the Ronin RSC 2. With a 24-70mm zoom lens mounted, this tiny gimbal is sturdy enough to support and stabilize a Sony a7S III or Canon R5. The RS 3 can become a crucial component of your compact camera kit thanks to its larger full-color OLED display, new fine-tuning knob, and improved stability. Added necessities like an updated Focus motor, a motor rod mount kit with gear strip, a briefcase handle, two multi-camera control cables, and a lens-fastening strap are included in the Combo kit.
Quick Release Plates
The dual-layered quick release plates make it simple and quick to mount a camera to the RS 3. After replacing a battery or memory card, the gimbal does not require rebalancing.
Automated Axis Locks
The three axes unlock and the gimbal expands automatically when you press and hold the power button while the gimbal is off, allowing you to start working in just two seconds. Once the power button is pressed, the axes automatically lock and go into sleep mode, greatly enhancing the efficiency of any move or storage.
Wireless Shutter Control
The RS 3 supports wireless shutter control thanks to the use of Dual-Mode Bluetooth, saving time and effort with each use. By simply pressing the record button on the stabilizer, you can control video and photo shooting after the initial Bluetooth pairing. After the initial use, previously paired cameras can automatically reconnect, doing away with the need for a camera control cable.
Integrated Controls
- With a newly added fine-tuning knob on the tilt axis, the camera can slide forward or backward with millimeter-grade precision adjustments to achieve accurate balancing more easily when changing the lens.
- By simply sliding the new gimbal mode switch, you can alternate between Pan follow, Pan and Tilt follow, and FPV modes. The FPV mode selection is also customizable to 3D Roll 360, Portrait, or Custom, allowing you to adjust your equipment and get started as fast as possible.
- Rotating the front dial allows you to control zoom or focus. It can also be customized to control the camera's shutter, aperture, ISO, or gimbal movements, making it exceptionally convenient for single-handed operation.
Third-Gen RS Stabilization Algorithm
The RS 3 offers 20% more stability than the RSC 2 and effortlessly handles low-angle shots, running scenarios, or switching between high and low positions thanks to its next-generation stabilization algorithm.
Get SuperSmooth Results
When SuperSmooth mode is activated, the RS 3 increases motor torque to further improve stabilization, allowing it to capture stable video even in frantic situations or when using 100mm-equivalent focal length lenses.
1.8" OLED Touchscreen
The RSC 3 has a 1.8" OLED full-color touchscreen with an 80% larger display than the RSC 2's monochrome screen. Additionally, it supports the majority of Ronin app settings, offering intuitive and accurate control along with the updated user interface.
Monitoring on Smartphone
The Ronin Image Transmitter, formerly known as the Ronin RavenEye Image Transmitter, is supported by RS 3 and can send live 1080p30 HD feeds to a mobile device. The end-to-end transmission latency is as low as 60 ms, and the maximum transmission distance is 656 feet. For wireless monitoring, a smartphone can also be fastened to the RS 3's NATO port using the phone holder.
Integrated Monitoring and Control
To get a seamless monitoring and control experience, remotely adjust the camera exposure directly in the Ronin app or operate the gimbal with the virtual joystick. A smartphone can be used as a motion controller to remotely control the RS 3 gimbal for more adaptable and dynamic camera movements with the Ronin Image Transmitter.
Enhanced Battery and Fast Charging
In comparison to the RSC 2, the new RS 3 battery grip has a cartridge design that makes battery swapping simpler and storage more convenient. Even better, it can be charged independently of the gimbal. The new battery grip offers a longer runtime of up to 12 hours, sufficient for all-day continuous shooting. It has a 2.5-hour charge time and supports 18W PD fast charging. It can even be used to power the RS 3 while it is charging, essentially forever.
Intelligent Functions
The camera retains all the intelligent motion functions such as Dolly Zoom, Motionlapse, Track, Time Tunnel, and Panorama.
New Briefcase Handle
The redesigned briefcase handle is foldable for easy storage and has a new ergonomic handle to make installing and switching to briefcase mode faster and easier. Low-angle camera movements are made easier to understand by the built-in cold shoe mount and 1/4"-20 mounting holes, which can connect to external monitors for shooting assistance.
All-New Focus Motor
The DJI RS Focus Motor's next generation (2022) offers noise reduction of 50% and torque that is three times stronger (up to 1 Nm). As a result, focusing is more fluid, and the impact on audio recording is lessened. It also uses a quick-release design that makes it simple to put together without the use of any tools for quicker use.
