The DJI RSC 2 is made for mirrorless and DSLR cameras, and it can handle weights of up to 6.6 pounds of camera gear. The Ronin-SC, this revised gimbal's predecessor, had motors that were only 25% as powerful as those of the RSC 2. The RSC 2's foldable design, which enables conversion to underslung mode, is a crucial feature.
Without having to attach or remove anything, you can rotate the gimbal around and utilise it underslung for low-angle pictures because the gimbal head folds down from the gimbal handle. The integrated gimbal handle still includes built-in batteries that can last up to 14 hours. Additionally, the batteries can be charged while the gimbal is in use by using the handle (barring extremely cold or extremely hot temperatures). The handle can be recharged in around two hours using an 18W fast charger, which is not included. It supports PD and QC 2.0 fast-charging protocols. The gimbal's foldable form makes it simpler to transport and store.
The RSC 2 has a 1" OLED black-and-white screen as well as a horizontal dial on the front for adjusting focus while holding the gimbal with the same hand. An M4 NATO mount for specialised attachments, such as an optional suitcase handle, is located on each side of the gimbal handle.
The DJI Titan stabilisation algorithm, an upgrade over the prior one that offers better stabilisation and fluidity, is used by the RSC 2. When using zoom lenses up to 100mm, a built-in function called SuperSmooth compliments the algorithm. To provide smooth motion with long lenses, SuperSmooth boosts torque and accounts for micromovements.
A dual-layer Manfrotto plus Arca-Swiss camera mounting system with two detachable quick-release plates is included with the gimbal. By pressing a button, you can put your camera into portrait mode for social media material. A companion iOS/Android app that is included with the RSC 2 gives you access to features like time-lapse, panoramic, and Roll 360, which continually rotates your camera along the roll axis. The RSC 2 supports a total of six possible configurations. Additionally, the gimbal is compatible with the optional DJI RavenEye transmission system, which enables remote 1080p video transmission, gimbal-based ActiveTrack 3.0 subject tracking, and other features.
Note: DJI recommends using only the dedicated Ronin quick release plates for mounting a camera and an 18W USB charger for fast charging of the built-in battery.
