The DJI OM 5 smartphone gimbal stabilizer is an improvement over the prior DJI OM 4 gimbal stabilizer. It comes in an even more compact frame that is simpler to balance and fold down, and it now has an extension rod that adds an extra 8.5" of length to support the design of more inventive shots. It still has the convenient foldable magnetic smartphone mount, but now it's made of metal with metal joints for increased durability and comfort.

With the DJI Mimo app and Bluetooth 5 control, the DJI OM 5 Smartphone Gimbal Stabilizer offers a variety of shooting modes and features, including Sport, Portrait, Underslung, Landscape, Time-Lapse, DynamicZoom (Dolly Zoom), Hyperlapse, Panorama, enhanced "CloneMe" Panorama, Slow-Motion, Inception-style spin (SpinShot), and a Sport mode for shooting fast-moving subjects. You don't need to touch any controls or hit the record button when using the gimbal to monitor your movement, shoot a selfie, or start/stop your smartphone camera. Instead, you can use hand gestures in addition to the joystick controls on the handle. With the most recent ActiveTrack 4.0, it can also automatically track body forms to track human subjects without the requirement for manual selection.
